Lost in the city (2023)

12 X 24 X 2”

mixed media on stretched canvas - gesso, mixed media, varnish and acrylic paint on deep canvas

Reminisce the distance past in the rosy tinted glasses

Past shapes who we are today. You’ve put your roots aside to integrate to the society and time has gone by for long to the point that you almost forget who you are.

Rosy, nostalgic , scattered yet attempt to merge yourself into one.

This is not feminism (2024) - 15x30x2" collage on canvas

Gesso, collage and varnish spray

This painting is available for purchase here.

As contempoary feminism tend to have negative connotation and we unconsciously associate a "feminist" as an anti-man, radical individual.

This gets me curious about what feminism is, Do women really support each other? Are We witches if we aren't supporting each other ? Etc.

For me, feminism means an active desire to change women's position socially, emotionally, finacially in the society.

Initially, it was sufferage, follow up with the second waves, racial equally then #metoo. These were all ground-breaking and important to address the social awareness. But when inclusiveness and diversity break-in, there's never a right answer on what feminism or feniminst should be. It become a unity contest based on social levels or racial assimilation.

''This is not feminism (2024)" is a reoccurring series that explore what feminism is, and document my discovery in the art form on canvas.

What is feminism mean to you?

For discourse, above opinion is personal opinion, please take what it resonates or relatable to you and leave the rest to yourself :)
